She founded Colégio Catarina de Bragança. Her main role is to Generally manage the school, she is also part of the school´s Pedagogical Board and she is the Nursery´s Technical Director.
She is also part of the Project To Be Pedagogical Council.
Curriculum
Sofia Moura dos Santos is the founder of Colégio Catarina de Bragança, where she has worked for 22 years in general management roles and as the Nursery´s technical director. The school was a result of her deep commitment to Education and the vision of competent children, capable of actively exploring and knowing the world around them. An expert in involved pedagogies, she dedicated her career to harmonising children’s purposes with the educational intentions of educators and teachers. She believes that the school should be a place where all children feel happy, fulfilled and integrated, in a democratic, inclusive and humanising environment. This purpose can only be achieved through collaborative work with the entire educational community, involving teachers, non-teaching staff and family members, in a joint construction based on respect and empathy. Before founding the school, she gathered vast experience in different areas. She worked as a Market Research Assistant at the advertising and communications agency Ogilvy & Mather Portugal and as a Marketing and Human Resources Director at the publishing house “Área Associativa – Comunicação e Serviços, Lda”. As part of her training and education, she began her career in the area of ”Complaints Service and Management” at the Instituto Técnico de Educação and coordinated the Professional Course for “Security Operators”, in partnership with the JI D Elementary/Integrated Education School. Carlos I and the Ministry of Internal Administration. Sofia Moura dos Santos has a degree in Social Psychology from the “Faculdade de Psychologia e Ciências Educativas na Universidade de Lisboa” has several training courses and projects in the area of involved pedagogies, consolidating her vision of transformative and innovative education.
Personal note
She is passionate about pedagogy and the teaching-learning process, she dedicates herself daily to helping her students and children grow, believing that these generations will transform the world. She loves reading, writing and has a special caring for telling stories, inspiring and creating unique moments of sharing and learning.
